Both parties of a two-party call can put the call on Hold. The call appears on Hold to both parties. The line indicator associated with the original host of the call or the Hold/Retrieve LED blinks. Hold on Hold can take place over an MSDN network or cluster.
For example, Set A calls Set B and puts them on Hold. Set B can now put the held call on Hold to answer another call. When Set A retrieves the call there is still a connection, but they are now on Hold.
When the Hold on Hold duration limit is reached, existing Recall mechanisms are used to notify the user who invoked the Hold on Hold situation to return to the call (see Recall for more information). After this party goes off-hook, the other party is recalled immediately. When the other party retrieves the call, it is connected to Ringback.
Both parties must be on the same system or on the same MSDN network or cluster.
Only multiline sets can invoke the Hold on Hold feature.
The Call Hold timer value in the Class of Service Options form is used to regulate the duration of a Hold on Hold situation.
